King of the Jungle

I don't always post things that just annoy me. This is a really cool video that I watched a few times, and I might've peed myself had this happened to me. Kudos to the person that invented this glass.

Tell me your thoughts on this video clip.

Is it a Bluff?

At work, Is your boss bluffing with your department? Is he presenting your group as better than you are? This doesn't just happen at work, it happens everywhere. When the Philadelphia Eagles called themselves the Dream Team, they were obviously bluffing. When your boss presents you as something you're not....He's bluffing. and what does that really mean? You're being setup for failure.

This becomes really clear when a new regime takes over, and has to make do with what he has.

Tipping Correctly?

Another Article that caught my eye that made me realize how crazy people are. I found this one on the Yahoo! News page, and it's about Tipping your servers and other people that serve you. So, here is your article if you like to see it, but I'll try to break it down for you too

1) SHOULD YOU TIP ON THE TAX?

Steves Verdict: "I like it when you do, but you don't have to tip on the tax."

My Verdict: You shouldn't have to tip on the tax, but do it anyways. If you're hurting for cash that much, then you shouldn't be eating out. 20% of 3.50 tax is only 70 cents.

2) WHAT IS THE CORRECT AMOUNT TO TIP ON DRINKS?

Steves Verdict: "[At the bar] you should leave 15 to 20 percent of the total cost of that drink, which may seem kind of ridiculous. But think of it this way: At the table, you're paying 15 to 20 percent. Why does the bartender not get that money, but the waiter - who doesn't make those drinks - does?"

My Verdict: Tip them a buck per drink, unless you open a tab. True they actually "make" your drink, but they also can serve 10x more people in 10x less time. With the Logic from 'Steve', we shouldn't tip the waiter or waitress at all, just give it to the cook. You tip waiters for the service, not the food.

3) DO YOU ALWAYS TIP YOUR BARISTA?

Steve's Verdict: "I learned when I worked as a barista that if you get a cup of coffee and give us the change from buying that cup, we're really grateful. But I've seen people order one of these frothy iced milk latte-type chemistry experiments - which can be more complicated to prepare than a martini - and then not tip. For baristas who make you one of these, tip a dollar."

My Verdict:
"It really depends on what they are doing, but really tip a buck, or with everything being put on a debit/credit card these days, to the nearest dollar.

4) WHEN, IF EVER, IS IT ACCEPTABLE TO LEAVE A BAD TIP?

Steve's Verdict: "I don't suggest stiffing servers on the tip, because you are punishing all the other people connected to that food chain. I tell people to talk to the manager and say, 'I had very poor service, but I'm leaving a tip anyway.'"

My Verdict: Steve is a moron! That's my verdict here. Really? Tip them and then tattle on them. How about at school we give the kids an A, and then tell their parents that they should've gotten an F instead, but we didn't want to hurt the schools average so we gave them an A. Or how about give them no tip, and then tell the manager that they shouldn't hire shite servers. If you tip them anyways, then they won't learn now will they?

5) SHOULD A SERVER BE ABLE TO AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDE GRATUITY IF IT'S NOT A LARGE GROUP?

Steve's Verdict: "If you were to include a service charge automatically, you would have to tell everyone who walks in that you're adding a 20 percent service charge. I don't support waiters deciding who they're going to attach a tip to. That's not their job - that's management's job - and they need to have a very well thought-out policy about why they're doing that."

My Verdict: Steve has it right on this one. I don't support waiters deciding what their tips should be. It would be like congress voting to give themselves raises, wouldn't it?
